In an inspiring effort to contribute to environmental conservation, the Collector of Tirunelveli district has entrusted this noble initiative to the student community. Students from Muthamil Public School, Pushpalatha School, and AVRMV Govt Girls School jointly organized a seed ball distribution rally at Sorimuthu Ayyanar Temple.
The event was planned by the District Collector, Dr. K. P. Karthikeyan, I.A.S., who encouraged students to take an active role in preserving nature. The rally began with an enthusiastic gathering of students who distributed seed balls to the devotees of the Ayyanar Temple, motivating them to plant more trees.
This initiative aimed at promoting afforestation and environmental awareness through the distribution of seed balls—small bundles of soil and seeds that can be easily planted in the ground. The students, armed with boxes of seed balls, were eager to spread the green message. They were divided into groups and assigned specific areas in the locality to distribute the seed balls. The enthusiasm and dedication of the students were palpable, and their efforts were well received by the community.
This event fostered a sense of responsibility among the students and the community.
