International days are occasions to educate the general public on issues of concern. United Nations Day, on 24 October marks the anniversary of the entry into force in 1945 of the UN Charter. United Nations promotes international awareness and action on different issues. The United Nations (UN) is an intergovernmental organization whose stated purposes are to maintain international peace and security, develop friendly relations among nations, achieve international cooperation, and be a centre for harmonizing the actions of nations.
Here in MPS, we conducted a Mock UNO Assembly during school assembly time to educate students on how UN assembly is conducted. Students from grades 5 – 8 participated in this event and enacted a session of UNO’s assembly.
A mock Q/A session was conducted and students representing different countries, questioned WHO and UNICEF, few students representing WHO and UNICEF responded to the question that was put forth to them.
World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF are the United Nations agency that connects nations, partners, and people to promote health and to keep the world safe.
This was a very educative and informative morning assembly conducted in MPS.
